Some officers of the Lagos State police command have fired teargas at the peaceful protesters in Ojota, Lagos today, June 12th.

Some Nigerians have hit the road to protest against President, Buhari and his government. Activist and convener of civil society organization, concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, yesterday stated that he will be embarking on a planned protest with his group.

According to him, protest is the language understood by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

Adeyanju flayed the President for saying that EndSARS protesters planned to remove him from office last October when the campaigners staged demonstrations against police brutality and extrajudicial killings.

But speaking on Friday, Adeyanju said the aim of the protest by his group was not to topple the government, adding that only the National Assembly has the powers to remove the President from office.

News coming in suggests that some protesters quickly fled as the officers started shooting teargas at them. Some protestors were also arrested at the Gani Fawehinmi Park. A page on Twitter shared some videos and images from the event.
