I guess you might not know your favourite musician or celebrity is an entstooled king or queen.

We are therefore going to have a look at some popular celebrities you might know are enstooled kings and queens.

We often hear most celebrities claiming to be kings of this and that and the female claiming to be queens but a king or queen without a crown is indeed an ordinary man with pride.

Or better put a useless one. When there is a king, there ought to be a kingdom. We now have situations where most Ghanaian musicians are now claiming to be dons and gads all in the name of claiming supremacy in the industry.

But let move back to business as usual as we intend to focus on the real kings and queens who have been enstooled by our traditional leaders and are recognized as such.

Obaahema Wendy Shay

Wendy Shay, let me correct it; Obaahema Wendy is the recognised queenmother of Gomoa Afransi. She was enstooled as queen the exact date of 28th December, 2019.

 Her stool is “Ahenemba Hemaa of Gomoa Afransi”. And so it appears Obaahema Wendy Shay isn’t far from right when she claims to be the queen of Ghana music.

It appears she is the only recognized queen mother who is actively involved in Ghana music.

Aberantie Amakye Dede

The evergreen and ever young veterran musician is also a recognised chief in the Asante Akyem Agogo municipality.

With the title Okyeredom conferred on him, Nana Amakye Dede is seen as one of the greatest individuals ever to come out from the Agogo land and so ought to be appreciated as such.

Oheneyere Gifty Anti

Another popular Ghanaian celebrity who has royalty running through her blood is that of our own Gifty Anti but now has the title Oheneyere conferred on her.

She is a queen as she married to one Nana Ansah Kwao IV of Adumasa Traditional Area.

Oheneyere Mercy Asiedu

Mercy Asiedu is also associated with royalty as she married to a king as well. The popular Kumawood actress is legitimately married to Nana Agyeman Badu.

Therefore the list won’t be complete without here. She now seems to be more focused on her queenly duties than acting.

Nana Captain Smart

The affluent radio presenter also do have a say when the chiefs and his people meet at the palace.

He is a recognized linguist for the people of Akwamu. It has been revealed that Captain Smart is actually an ‘Okyeame’ or linguist with the stool name ‘Otumfour Akwamuhene Kyeame’, meaning he can speak for the Akwamuhene or Akwamu Chief.

It appears he doesn’t only need to talk on radio but has a major role to play as well for the people of Akwamu.
